There's an environment of values . . . these values permeate everything that goes on in this school. |

Welcome to Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy’s Web site!
The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose have always been committed to education, so when the opportunity to open a boarding school arose, there was no hesitating. The Sisters purchased the Flintridge Biltmore Hotel and its 41-acres at auction in 1931 and thus founded FSHA. Three courageous Dominican Sisters traveled up the hill with only five dollars in their pocket and a statue of the Blessed Mother in their hands to begin life at FSHA. Even when their car broke down, they were undaunted; the determined Sisters walked the remaining distance to the grounds. Classes began just weeks later.
The same spirit with which the school was founded is instilled in today’s students: the courage to believe in oneself, the determination to do the best you can and the faith to persevere even when discouraged. The faculty and staff of FSHA are committed to providing an educational environment that nurtures the intellect and the spirit, while developing a life-long love of learning. Christian values, academic excellence and a vibrant enthusiasm for living are central to the holistic education provided at FSHA.
We are delighted to share our Flintridge Community with you and hope that your visit is the beginning of a wonderful relationship, whether you’re researching where to attend high school or catching up with life on the hill. We have tried to capture what makes FSHA such a wonderful and unique place throughout these pages. I encourage you to explore our site and get to know our students, faculty, curriculum and campus better.
