The faculty of the Religious Studies Department believes that adolescent catechesis includes the Catholic Christian tradition, God's present activity in the lives of the young women on FSHA, the family, community, the world and the contemporary life experience of the adolescent. The Religion curriculum is designed to give the student a strong knowledge of lived faith that finds its center in an experience of Jesus.
Catechesis, Christian service and spiritual development are key to nourishing faith life. In this task, the efforts of the Religious Studies Department are supported and enriched by the activities of the Campus Ministry Department.
The goals of the Religious Studies Department include: to deepen the faith of the students in our care, helping them grow in an understanding of a lived faith; to provide an introduction to the theological and historical dimensions of the Catholic Christian faith; and to lead the student to a full personal participation in and appreciation of the spiritual and liturgical dimension of Christian faith.
