APES "Upcycles" for Year-End Project

After the AP Environmental Science exam each May, students in that class at FSHA undertake eco-friendly projects for the rest of the school year. In Mrs. Mary Havrilla's classes this year, Tologs are "upcycling" items that would normally be thrown away into new, useful products.
Those products are wine cork coasters (pictured), reusable bags and jewelry. Students plan to gather the items into a gift basket to be donated for auction at Gala 2015.

In addition, Lizzie Riggall '15 is organizing an FSHA-wide "No Trash Day" for the week after Memorial Day. Students (and staff!) will be encouraged to bring lunch and snacks to campus in reusable containers, recycle when possible and compost food waste.
