Alumnae Participate in Student Led Art Exhibition

National Council of Jewish Women Los Angeles's The Talk Project presents its first ever student led and featured art exhibition, "Rise." Maddy Sturma (’15) has been working hard to help put together this student art exhibition in South Pasadena, and Sarah Burrola (’16) is one of the artists being featured. The show opens this Friday, August 19 at Sugarmynt Gallery. Details below.
Designed to raise awareness about sexual violence and the cultural constructs which normalize it, “Rise” will be up for a week at SugarMynt Gallery in South Pasadena.

The exhibition's KICK OFF EVENT is August 21 starting at 5:00 pm where you can schmooze with the artists, contributors, and even the founders and educators of The Talk Project!

Come to the show to learn about gender, gender roles, sex, sexuality, sexual violence, and rape culture through diverse mediums of artistic expression, as well as from the artists themselves! Additionally, at the event, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about these topics or about our project from The Talk Project volunteers and co-creators!

But that's not all- get some food, or merchandise, and experience a live storytelling AND music event, where artists, volunteers, and musicians will share their work with you LIVE!

Come and show your support for your fellow community artists and learn about sexual violence and its normalizing constructs through amazing student art!

$5 suggested donation entrance fee goes towards The Talk Project and NCJWLA to help fund their sexual violence education program.

Food and merchandise are available for purchase!
