In 2016, we remodeled the Mozilo Family Center for the Arts. We are now in the homestretch of Vision for Veritas II, which will expand and complete the Mozilo Family Center for the Arts. About Vision for Veritas I & II

Over the course of the last two decades we have been modernizing our 60-year old facilities to provide students with the optimal 21st-century learning environment. The first three phases of the Master Plan—the Student Activities Center (SAC), the Arts Center remodel and six renovated high school classrooms—have had a profound and transformational impact on our programs and stand as proof that where we learn significantly influences how we learn. We are now in the homestretch of our $7.4 million Vision for Veritas II campaign.

We successfully completed Phase I of the Arts Center remodel in 2016. The expansion phase will unite the arts classrooms currently dispersed throughout the campus under one roof and includes:

NORTH SIDE OF BUILDING 

  • New dance studio 
  • New music/choral classroom 
  • New theatre classroom 
  • New stagecraft room 

SOUTH SIDE OF BUILDING 

  • New 2D art classroom 
  • New and expanded 3D art classroom

Vision for Veritas I

Center for the Arts Remodel

The first phase of the Arts Center, with its new stage for the arts and a 3D art classroom, moved our visual and performing arts program quantum leaps ahead.

    • The Original Auditorium

      Built in 1956 as a "gymnasium-auditorium," it housed everything from theatre productions to basketball practice and had never been renovated.

    • Opening Night, April 2016

      Transformed into a modern, 237 seat theater with professional sound and lighting, an art gallery, enlarged 3D art classroom and stagecraft workroom.

Vision for Veritas II

Expanding the Mozilo Family Center for the Arts

With the exception of 3D Art, our visual and performing arts classrooms are spread throughout the campus. The expansion of the Arts Center will unite all visual and performing arts instruction under one roof. Having these classrooms together will enable organic collaboration and cross-disciplinary engagement by both students and teachers.

    • Dance Studio

      • 1,200 square feet.
      • Resilient Harlequin sprung floor.
      • Pipe grids with simple workshop style stage lighting system at ceiling.
      • Dance barres and dance mirror with bi-parting traveler curtain.
      • Doubles as rehearsal space or mini performance space.

    • Music/Choral Classroom

      • 620 square feet.
      • 24”x24” Perforated wood suspended
      acoustical ceiling tiles.
      • 24” x 24” peak pyramid diffuser ceiling tiles.
      • Baby grand piano and choral director’s podium.

    • Theatre Classroom

      • 690 square feet.
      • Pipe grids with simple workshop style stage lighting system at ceiling.
      • Rehearsal mirror with bi-parting
      traveler curtain.
      • Full length work bench with sinks.
      • Doubles as a dressing room.

    • Stagecraft Classroom

      • 1,040 square feet.
      • Nailable work floor at Stagecraft that is level with the existing back stage floor.
      • Exterior rated in-grade scissor lift for elevated loading lock.
      • New roll-up doors to exterior scissor lift and to existing back stage.

    • 2D Art Classroom

      • 800 square feet.
      • Track light in a square grid pattern in the center of the room for illuminating still life and models. • Storage supplies closet.
      • Work bench with sinks.

    • 3D Art Classroom Extension

      • 380 square feet (extended ceramic wheels studio) connected internally to the existing 3D Art Studio
      • 110 square feet (storage)
      • 55 square feet (glazing room) – with small bar sink
      • 60 square feet (kiln)
      • Slip resistant flooring (altro symphonia)

A gift to the Vision for Veritas II campaign is an opportunity to help shape and elevate the learning environment for students. Your gift also presents a unique opportunity to be permanently recognized on our campus.

We encourage our donors to take advantage of these opportunities, either through an outright gift or through one that is pledged for up to five years.
