Yearbook is an entirely student-driven, yearlong commitment to recording the history and events of the year. Each student will be introduced to basic design principles, learning how to execute, with continuity, a visual and verbal brand specific to the year's theme. You will have the opportunity to take photos, conduct interviews, and design layouts, dedicating your focus to the area which interests you most. The class is highly collaborative and you will develop your skills at working in groups. As a class with real-world "deliverables", you will learn to manage and meet deadlines, ensuring an on time delivery to the school community, and you will learn to collaborate with others, completing not just your own piece of the book, but also developing the initiative to step up and help where help is needed.
Yearbook is an excellent foundation for any student interested in graphic design, marketing, photography, and publishing. You will use eDesign (modeled after Adobe InDesign) as well as Adobe Express, providing you with an introduction to industry standard tools.
