What has been your proudest professional accomplishment?

I spent five years working at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on the exhibition, catalogue, tour, and documentary film “Degenerate Art: The Fate of the Avant-Garde in Nazi Germany.” I was fortunate to cut my teeth in the art world by working with exceptionally talented people on a demanding, exciting, and rewarding project.

What has been your favorite teaching moment at Flintridge Sacred Heart?

On occasion, there are moments during class when students reach a new level of awareness and there is a collective expression of joy. I live for those moments as an educator.

What most excites you about your work here on the Hill?

I’ve always thought of Flintridge Sacred Heart as a Shangri-La of education. The Hill is a very special place for students and staff to share their pursuit of truth in a supportive environment, guided by spiritual and humanistic values.

What's your favorite spot on campus?

The Library is my favorite inside spot. It’s a nexus of knowledge, learning, thinking, and collaboration. My favorite outside spot is the Octagon. Day or night, it has great views of the city, sky, Main Building, mountains, and canyon.

What's your favorite place in the world?

Kauai— Na Pali Coast, tropical rainforest, ocean, beaches, Waimea Canyon, Poipu

What are you surprisingly good at?

I can write a decent lyric poem now and then.

What do you want to be when you grow up (now)?

I want to develop skill as a landscape astrophotographer. It involves creativity, technology, planning, travel, and terrestrial and celestial subjects.
