What do your students call you?
Chou! Chou-ster, Chou-sta. Some older students/alumnae do address me by my first name since I was a coach at Flintridge Sacred Heart first or they've known me from volleyball club previously.
What made you want to work at Flintridge Sacred Heart?
I started with coaching volleyball, but it's the community and the girls that made me want to be more involved with Flintridge Sacred Heart!
What has been your proudest professional accomplishment?
Bringing and seeing the Flintridge Sacred Heart community come together through numerous Renaissance events. Attending and medalling at USA Volleyball Adult Nationals (playing) and Junior Nationals (coaching). Sending former players of mine to play collegiate volleyball.
What has been your favorite teaching moment at Flintridge Sacred Heart?
When students tell me they miss my class.
What most excites you about your work here on the Hill?
The students!
What is Flintridge Sacred Heart's best kept secret?
Flintridge Sacred Heart is a great spot to watch fireworks for forth of July.
What's your favorite spot on campus?
My office when it's filled with students during non-class times.
When not in the classroom/office, where can you be found?
At starbucks/boba shops, volleyball courts or a Nike store somewhere.
What's your favorite place in the world?
Tokyo or Hawaii
What are you surprisingly good at?
Keeping my shoes clean and badminton
