Ms. Murphy

What made you want to work at FSHA?

The authenticity I felt when I first walked the halls. It really felt like a school.

What most excites you about your work here on the Hill?

listening to students talk about their ideas for the two big research projects, specifically the moment when it all comes together in their minds

What do you love about the all-girls environment at FSHA?

I love how focused many of our girls are on womanhood and what it means to walk through this world as a woman. I love that the girls are free from so many of the social demands that bogged down my own high school experience.

Any and all of our many, beautiful balconies.

When not in the classroom/office, where can you be found?

Sherrie Singer's (assistant principal of curriculum & instruction) office

making red beans and rice

Who has made the biggest impact on your life?

my son

What book, movie, work of art, piece of music, etc. can you not imagine life without?

Miles Davis "Kind of Blue", The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood, any and all historical maps (which I consider works of art)
