What has been your proudest professional accomplishment?

Getting a short story selected (out of 9,000 submissions) for publication in the literary magazine “Glimmer Train.”

What has been your favorite teaching moment at FSHA?

My favorite teaching moments happen when one of my students, whether in English, creative writing or journalism, has a big idea for a piece of writing, thinks for a second, and realizes that she's got the resolve to make her idea happen.

What is FSHA's best kept secret?

Every type of student we have feels comfortable here. That's a huge accomplishment.

When not in the classroom/office, where can you be found?

Walking my dogs around Altadena

What's your favorite place in the world?

The Lake Superior shore in Michigan

What are you surprisingly good at?

Gardening
