What’s your role in the admissions office?

I am the director of admissions & enrollment management. I oversee all admissions programs, processes, and procedures.

What made you want to work at FSHA?

Everyone was so kind, welcoming and warm during my first visit to Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy. I knew immediately it was a very special place that I had to be part of. The education of girls has long been a passion of mine. To work at a school like FSHA where young women are encouraged to pursue a life of faith, integrity and truth really resonated with me. Also, the view from the Hill is pretty spectacular!

What most excites you about your work here on the Hill?

I am very eager to begin meeting our prospective students and welcoming back our returning girls. My work with students and their families is the most rewarding part of this career and the reason I have been doing it for 16 years!

What are the two most important things prospective students should know about FSHA?

  • FSHA is not only a Catholic School, but also Dominican. This means that our girls are encouraged to participate in a holistic educational setting, which allows them to flourish emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and socially. Although we are grounded in the Catholic faith, we welcome girls from all faith backgrounds to attend our school.
  • Girls’ schools are amazing! It is cool to be smart here! So much research has been done to indicate that girls learn differently than boys, and at FSHA we make sure our graduates are ready to take on anything that comes their way with truth, confidence, and poise.

What is FSHA’s best kept secret?

The location! It's absolutely beautiful here on the Hill. If you have not been on campus you are in for a treat! You would never believe that we are only minutes from Los Angeles. It's truly a blessing to be able to work and study in such a setting!

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

There are so many spots on campus that take my breath away and the views are amazing, but I would say that the courtyard is my favorite place to reflect and unplug for a few minutes during a busy day.

What do you love about the all-girls school environment at FSHA?

Girls are encouraged to be leaders here. They are celebrated for being smart. They truly connect with one another to form bonds that seem more like sisterhood than friendship alone.

What are you surprisingly good at?

I really enjoy working with my hands, and I am quite good at building things from scratch or refurbishing old items. I love to decorate with found objects by imagining what they once were and repurposing them.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

At the beach with a great memoir. Riding my bike. Or spending time with my husband Chris and our Westie, Bella.

Who has made the biggest impact on your life?

My father. He is the hardest working person I know and instilled that work ethic in me from a young age. He gave me all the tools I needed to be a self-sufficient and independent woman. He is truly my hero!

What’s your role in the admissions office?

As the assistant director of admissions, I assist prospective candidates, current families and colleagues with anything regarding the admissions process.

What made you want to work at FSHA?

FSHA is truly a welcoming community.

What most excites you about your work here on the Hill?

In my opinion, the most exciting part of my job is working the Admissions events and meeting new families.

What are the two most important things prospective students should know about FSHA?

The most important thing prospective students should know about FSHA is that you never really leave the Hill even after graduating. Lifelong bonds and a true sense of sisterhood really epitomize what the heart of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy represents.

What is FSHA’s best kept secret?

There's so much wildlife here! From the graceful deer to the sun-bathing lizards, there has not been a day since I started working here that I have not seen some sort of creature on campus.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus overlooks the Rose Bowl and Pasadena. What a fantastic view!

What do you love about the all-girls school environment at FSHA?

What I love about the all-girls learning environment is that the focus can truly be on academics, empowerment, carefree fun, individuality and collaborative growth. FSHA challenges and nurtures the holistic development of young women.

What are you surprisingly good at?

I am a trained makeup artist and have helped my sisters and friends with their makeup predicaments for years.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

When I am not working, you can always find me with my big family, my wonderful boyfriend Chris and our goofy dog. Going to concerts, thrift store shopping or a family dinner at my parent’s house are some of my favorite activities.

Who has made the biggest impact on your life?

My parents have made the biggest impact on my life by far. Their virtuousness, compassion, purity and unwavering love guide my siblings and me through our lives. They are a constant source of stability and selflessness for anyone who knows them. I truly can’t say enough about how important family is.

What’s your role in the admissions office?

I am often the first point of contact for students and families. I also make sure that applications are completed, do research and projects, and help to plan events.

What made you want to work at FSHA?

There’s a longer story for another day that involves my dog, but the short answer is that I wanted to work here because of the interesting work I do and the wonderful people that I work with.

What most excites you about your work here on the Hill?

Every year we get to shepherd a new group of girls through this wildly interesting process. It’s exciting to see so many different girls who all want to attend FSHA for their own reasons.

What are the two most important things prospective students should know about FSHA?

You will probably fall in love with this location, which is great because I did too! People here are truly kind – the students, teachers, administrators, staff, everyone.

What is FSHA’s best kept secret?

To me, the boarding program! Growing up in the area, I never heard that FSHA had a boarding program for US and international students. It’s such a unique and beneficial experience for everyone here.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

The Arts Center. It’s just stunning.

What do you love about the all-girls school environment at FSHA?

It allows these girls to be confident in their abilities and become self-assured. They are encouraged to find their place in the world and, once found, fully inhabit that place.

What are you surprisingly good at?

Genealogical research. I love devoting myself to tracing my ancestry, adding to my family tree, and compiling stories before they are lost in time.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

At home with my dog Maggie, catching up on TV shows. Other good bets of where to find me: discount shopping, taking walks in the park, reading, or out to dinner with my friends.

Who has made the biggest impact on your life?

My family. Without them I am nothing.
