October Boarding Hall News

Happy Fall!

We had our first birthday dinner of the year to celebrate July, August and September birthdays on September 19 and it was a blast! We had a beach-themed party on the senior lawn, including a water balloon fight, and a party in the pool. We’ll enjoy some great bbq, summer sun and time together as a boarding hall. Faculty member John Pettersson organized a tournament of the lawn game Kubb during the Boarding Hall Retreat. All the students participated and had a wonderful time.

Sept. 29 - 30, we have our annual boarding hall retreat. This was a chance for our entire boarding hall community to come together and spend time together exploring the themes of family, kinship, community and sisterhood. The theme this year was “Love Who You Are”, and included team building games, boarding council led talks, small group discussions, and prayer services. It was a wonderful weekend full of camaraderie, togetherness, and bonding.

On September 22 Ms. Sam and faculty member Abby Davitt took girls on a beach trip and they had a wonderful day in the California sun.

Ms. Tennity hosted a game night September 7 and we continue to have weekly Town Runs to Target and the Glendale Galleria available on Wednesday’s and Friday’s and the occasional Saturday.

TBT Movie Night has been a hit this year especially with our freshman and continues every Thursday. Our Director of Human Resources Juli Canavan will be hosting a Halloween Movie Mania night in October for the girls.
