Boarding Hall Update

Greetings from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy!

April was another busy month in residential life, with two fun weekend outings and an intentional focus on celebrating our planet in honor of Earth month. Keep reading to see what we've been up to!

On Saturday, April 14, we went on an outing to Santa Monica—we were able to enjoy the beach, hang out at Santa Monica Pier, and do some shopping at Third Street Promenade. The next day, we enjoyed an afternoon of hot pot with Ms. Katie.

On April 18, we enjoyed a simple, "upcycled" birthday dinner, celebrating our April birthdays—Michelle He, Sr. Carolyn, and Sr. Eileen. The following weekend, we went on our second outing of the month to The Broad Museum. Students were able to see some Andy Warhol pieces, and experience the "Infinity Room," among other installments.

On Tuesday, April 24, we continued to focus on loving the Earth with our April intentional program, an environmental campus-wide scavenger hunt. Students deciphered clues that led them across campus while learning fun facts about consumption and environmental sustainability.

We wrapped up our month with a night at the Pasadena Convention Center on April 26 for the Los Angeles National College Fair. Students were able to meet with representatives from numerous universities, and learn more about the college applications process.

While the end of the year is quickly approaching, we've got plenty of fun events planned for May. The boarding seniors just enjoyed their “Senior Surprise Night” with the boarding hall, something that has become a well-loved tradition, and we’re going to the Griffith Park Observatory tonight.

We’ve got a few short weeks before the halls close for the summer. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.

Blessings,

Katie Steele
