December News from the Boarding Hall

Happy December Parents!

The halls have been filled with happy singing and laughter ever since we returned from Thanksgiving break and it’s been music to our ears. The girls had a refreshing break and have headed into December in full force until break next week. Christmas Break is fast approaching and will be filled with our December birthday dinner this week and final exams next week. Below are some of the fun events we’ve done recently and more to come next month.

•    November 2 | Ms. Anoosh and Assistant Principal, Student Affairs Rosemary Johnston took some of our girls to see "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms." And Ms. Johnston treated all the girls to popcorn and snacks!

•    November 10 | Ms. Tennity had an impromptu game night. which the girls always love!

•    Our November Intentional Program took place on the first and we were fortunate enough to have 15 colleges come and present about application best practices and answer all the questions the girls had. All the students were able to benefit from having direct access to 15+ college admission counselors and learn insider tips and tricks specific to international students.

•    November 5 | Abby Davitt gave a wonderful meditative prayer service on the importance of self-care and what the girls can do to make sure they are taking care of themselves. She had wonderful soothing music while she walked everyone through a meditative exercise to close the service.

•    November 13 | We held our birthday dinner with a Thanksgiving theme. We had multiple faculty and day students attend the event to celebrate our November babies! It was a pre-Thanksgiving feast with turkey, rolls, potatoes, and pies galore. We also passed out the secret Santa questionnaires for the girls to fill out!

•    December 3 | We had our boarding hall prayer service led by Ms. Sam. She did a wonderful reflective service for the girls about recognizing how they can best serve others and themselves.

•    December 6 | Mr. Cramer came and had a baking night with the girls and they made eight loaves of coffee cake; what a feast! This has been a tradition with Mr. Cramer, and he did not disappoint this year. The girls all had a ball with him.
•    December 10 | Therese Bagsit, our director of admissions, is coming to have a Christmas wrapping party with the girls to demonstrate how to properly wrap a present. All the girls will have a chance to wrap their own secret Santa presents they have for their sisters for our Thursday party!
