Dear Fellow Alumnae,
I am very thrilled and humbled to serve as the incoming President of our Alumnae Association. Since graduating in 2005, I have had the unique opportunity to return to the Hill frequently by providing school uniforms to our current Tologs. Through their stories, I learned about the newest happenings of the school, such as the Junior and Senior Research Projects, the new Arts Center and various sports championships. Most importantly, I have realized that although the school continues to excel and grow academically and holistically, one thing remains the same - the spirit of our beautiful community.
As Sister Carolyn often says, FSHA is your home. Through conversations and encounters, I have seen the many ways our home has impacted our alumnae. I have been able to hear the story of an alumna who watched her daughter become ASB president, a position she also held her senior year. I’ve watched our outgoing Alumnae Association president, Molly Weber Girardi ’00, lead the Alumnae Association with graceful strength and wit. And, I’ve been amazed when seeing the interaction between currents students and alumnae returning for Career Day.
Through hearing these stories and attending Alumnae Association events, I have been able to see the vibrancy and generosity of our community. It is rewarding to see alumnae connect with the students, reconnect with each other, and return to their home on the Hill.
There are so many ways to be connected to the Hill through the Alumnae Association, whether it is becoming a alumnae ambassador, reaching out to an old classmate, attending one of our events, or donating the Flintridge Fund. Here are a few of my favorite ways to get involved:
Become an Alumnae Ambassador - I am excited to announce we are creating an alumnae ambassador program. We hope to encourage more alumnae to become involved by attending, supporting, or helping plan events. As an ambassador, you are a larger voice for our alumnae community and we always welcome your ideas and support.
Career Day - This past Spring, we welcomed back over 30 alumnae to the Hill to speak on panels about their careers. The juniors and seniors listened intently to their fellow Tologs. Career Day not only allows you to interact with the students, but it also gives you the opportunity to network with other accomplished alumnae.
Flintridge Fund - Our support to the the Flintridge Fund helps our current Tologs with an education that fosters innovative learning, instills compassion and inspires courage in their lives now and in the future. I give because without my FSHA education I wouldn’t be the woman I am today.
If you have any further questions on how to get involved, please feel free to contact me or Colette Connor, director of alumnae relations. I look forward to meeting many of you and hearing your stories.
