Principal Announcement - April 2023

It is with great joy that the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose announce the appointment of Mrs. Rebecca Bostic as our first lay Catholic Principal of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy beginning in the 2023-2024 academic school year. Rebecca distinguished herself throughout our comprehensive search process as the ideal leader to guide our school into an amazing future. Most recently having served as our Assistant Principal of Student Affairs, we have experienced Rebecca’s commitment to uphold the Dominican values of faith, integrity and truth and have every confidence she will continue to lead our community with that commitment in her new role.

Rebecca’s impressive teaching and leadership credentials include a BA in English from the University of Notre Dame and an MA in English Literature from Arizona State University. She is currently completing a Masters in Educational Leadership from the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame. Prior to her arrival at Flintridge Sacred Heart, Rebecca was the Director of Spiritual Life at Marymount High school. Teaching assignments at Xavier College Prep and Washington High School in Phoenix AZ preceded her work at Marymount.

In her own words, Rebecca shared, “The Sisters have laid an incredibly strong foundation and charted a visionary course; it would be my honor to step into the path of their work and become part of the much larger narrative that is the work of the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose.”

This historic appointment highlights the Dominican Sisters’ commitment to a truly Catholic, Dominican future for Flintridge Sacred Heart. Our shared Dominican values and our faithfulness to VERITAS remains unwavering among us, administration, faculty, and staff, as we commit daily to live from inclusive love and reconciling restorative practices.

Please join us in celebrating this new moment for our school community as we wholeheartedly welcome Rebecca to her new role as Principal. May she be blessed in her leadership at our high school, and may we all offer her our best wishes for what lies ahead.

With gratitude,

Sister Carolyn McCormack, OP
President
