JV Basketball Steps onto the Court with Buxman
Dribble. Pass. Shoot. After a long period of conditioning, the JV basketball team is full of team spirit and a thirst for victory.
The team has 12 enthusiastic girls coached by Mr. Ty Buxman, who is coaching basketball for the first time.
“It’s been fun. I have eight freshmen and four sophomores. They’re all interested in playing, learning and listening to me once in awhile,” said Mr. Buxman.
The season is off to a great start with wins against both Flintridge Prep and Westridge. The team has shown an enormous improvement from last season due to the hours of practice during the summer.
Mr. Buxman’s hopes that every player will improve their skills over the length of the season.
Co-captains are sophomores Laura Allen, Darby Halloran and Lauren Pantiskas.
This team also includes sopho-more Katheryn Herman and freshmen Tyler Basich, Alex Eaton, Lana Haddad, Shirley Hui, Erika Johnson, Cathy Nivera, Maddie Romero and Nora Welsh.
