With students now back in school, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy would like to welcome its new teaching staff for the 2010-2011 school year.
Annemarie Bacichis the new assistant principal for curriculum and instruction, replacing the retiring Dr. Susan Rocque. A native of Northern California and an alumna of the University of San Francisco, Annemarie recently completed a master’s program in private school leadership at Columbia University in New York City.
Sr. Donna Marie Nichols, OP, is the new attendance clerk, replacing the retiring Joanne Hastings Bevans ’48. Sr. Donna comes to FSHA from St. Simon School in Los Altos.
Kelley Hickeyis the new campus minister, replacing Annie Selak, who took a position at the University of Notre Dame. Kelley holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Gonzaga University, where she was involved extensively with the campus ministry.
Margot Paine is the new Academic Services Coordinator. She will work with students who need additional help with their academics.
Catherine Diaz and Maribel Kuklishare the new Spanish teachers, respectively replacing Colleen Wealton Mailander, who moved to the East Coast, and the retiring Celia Leaver. Catherine is experienced in bilingual education, with degrees from UCLA in Spanish and educational administration from Cal State LA. Kuklish is a native of Venezuela who previously taught Spanish at Providence High School in Burbank for six years.
Evan McGrath is the new religion teacher, replacing Sr. Jane Rudolph, who moved on to a school in Orange County. He has previously taught at San Gabriel Mission High School and Holy Family High School.
Eric Palshas replaced Paul Scharfy in the social studies department. He most recently taught at View Park Preparatory High School in Los Angeles and holds degrees from UCLA and Pepperdine.
And Christine Davis ’00returns to the hill as a boarding supervisor. After FSHA, she attended the Maritime Academy in Monterey.
