Flintridge Festivities Bring FSHA Students and Parents Together

On October 15, two separate Flintridge Festivities played on two different culinary delights. That afternoon, 10 students met with Christy Mozilo Larsen '84 in the FSHA kitchen to learn how to make pasta. That night, 32 current and past parents met at the home of Special Events Manager Charlotte Saydah for a full Indian meal prepared by Mr. Olympio d'Mello and his wife, Angie.
The first event, Past'Amore (pictured), gave Larsen the opportunity to show off the skills she learned at Pasadena's Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts and uses today in her business, Lucia Grace Catering and Confections. Girls learned how to make all kinds of pasta from scratch, including tortellini and lasagna noodles. Attendees included Sydney Acosta, Kyler Harvey, Soleil Hyland, Katie Liberio, Tara Kawai Daniels, Alexa Montgomery, Claire Mudie and Eva Dulcich.

That night, A Taste of India brought authentic Indian flavors to a crowd of 35 that included Sr. Celeste, this year's Golf chairs Alison and Michael Davitt, and last year's Gala chair Colleen Welsh and her husband Luke. The assembled group enjoyed a menu of chivda, beef samosas, potato dumplings, naan, bhel puri, chutney sandwiches, spinach bhajia, onion bhajia, chicken tikka, beef kabobs, kheema pate, papad and spinach & paneer pakoras.

These Flintridge Festivities were auctioned off as part of last year's Gala and were open to members of the FSHA community. The next Flintridge Festivity on the calendar is St. Paddy's Day on the Hill on March 9, 2012, which is available for registration on Podium.
