Katie Johnson '12 Earns Prestigious Honor

Nearly one year after helping to lead the Tologs to the program's first CIF Div. I Southern Section championship, Katie Johnson '12 has been named to the 2011 NSCAA High School Girls All America Team.
NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) included 40 other forwards in its selection, which includes players from coast to coast. The 81 honorees in total will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, which takes place in Kansas City on January 14, 2012. FSHA will also hang a banner in the Gym noting Katie's accomplishment.

Katie, who lives in Monrovia, has already committed to play soccer at USC. During last year's championship season, she racked up 23 goals and 12 assists, which made her the offensive scoring leader both for the Tologs and the Mission League. Her triumphs last season made her No. 2 on the Glendale News-Press' list of all area girls athletes and the girls soccer player of the year in the Pasadena Star News, and she was named to the All-CIF Southern Section team along with Kayla Mills '13, Tera Trujillo '12 and Natalie Zeenni '11.

Along with Natalie, Katie was also named this past week to the NSCAA High School Girls All-Region VIII, a list of the 20 best players from the western United States.
