Schools must be allowed to upgrade

This letter to the editor from LCF resident Lorene Jaross appeared in the October 28 edition of the La Cañada Valley Sun.
Re: Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy’s master plan for improving the campus. I have lived in La Cañada for 44 years and have been involved in La Cañada public schools and realize that updating curriculum, buildings, etc., is essential no matter public or private. The quality of the kids’ education is what matters.

Here in La Cañada there are many examples of updating school facilities. Paradise Canyon Elementary School added a new building about three years ago. St. Bede’s added a new building in the past decade. St. Francis added a parking structure, and La Cañada High School did a major school building refurbishment about two years ago.

As we know, all schools must be able to offer a quality education to their students using up-to-date facilities. This is what Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is trying to accomplish with its master plan.
