The 2012-13 swim season came to a close on Saturday, May 11, as FSHA won state titles in two races and a seventh-place finish in CIF — an all-time high for the program.

Kirsten Vose '15 came away from the state meet at Riverside City College with a CIF championship in the 100 breaststroke, in a time (1:02.57) that's a personal best for Kirsten as well as an All-American time.

FSHA's other title came in the 200 medley relay, which Kirsten swam with Emily Balog '13, Katie Altmayer '14 and Kate Herrill '16. Their time (1:44.26) was also an All-American time and broke the school record.

The same foursome placed fourth in the 200 free relay, while Katie broke three school records in the space of 61 minutes and Kate turned in a best-ever performance by an FSHA freshman at the state championships.

Video of the meet is available here. The relay win is at 11:50 and Kirsten's win is at 2:32.40.

The state championships come on the heels of a dominant team performance at the Mission League championships on April 30. Varsity won 7 of 12 events and set three meet records and five school records; JV won 8 of 10. At that meeting, Kirsten won four events for the second year in a row and broke two meet records. The same 200 free relay team won the league title with a school record and All-American time, and Katie broke three school records over two days.

Caroline Bender '15, FSHA's sole diver, won the league championship with an All-American score.

On the JV side, Julia Martin '16 won four events, three of which broke school records; Sarah Stephens '14 won three events; and the 200 free relay team (Julia, Sarah, Madeline Dulcich '16 and Micaela Snashall '14) broke a six-year-old school record.
