Sierra deSousa ’14, who was coeditor of the Veritas Shield for the 2012-13 school year, will be editor-in-chief for the 2013-14 school year.

“I feel incredibly honored to lead the editors and the staff writers for the second consecutive year,” says deSousa. “Although it will be hard getting used to working without a co-editor, I look forward to the challenge of taking on more responsibility.”

An avid writer, deSousa’s favorite part of her job is feeling like she’s making a difference.

“Not only do I get to share my ideas when people read my articles, but I also am a huge part of the production of something that touches many people, from students to teachers and beyond,” says deSousa.

Other editors also were announced, including an unprecedented title created by Judy Lee ‘14: business editor.

“I am very interested in business,” says Lee. “In the future, I will write monthly updates about the global  economy, features about business knowledge and business club updates.”

Joining deSousa and Lee on next year’s editorial staff are Advertising Manager DeeDee Durkan ‘14, Opinion Editor Carra Liwanag ‘15, Layout Editor Melissa Schwaigerlehner ‘14, Sports Editor India Zietsman ‘14, Club Editor Rebecca Calix ‘15, Entertainment Editor Dani Chavez ‘14 and World Editor Maureen Cen ‘14. —Terra Cheung
