Gina-Sophia Zamudio

I will always love the sisterhood aspect of Flintridge Sacred Heart. In just four years I was able to foster some of the most meaningful friendships I will have, and I also learned how to live in sisterhood with myself.

Please describe an experience, class or teacher on the Hill that sparked a passion or interest that continues to this day.

Mr. Thornton was one of the first teachers to really spark my interest in politics, class, and activism. He is one of the most knowledgeable people I've known, yet always let us come to our own conclusions about the world in his class. In my current life, I am involved in political organizing, social media activism, and studying global politics in college because of Mr. Thornton's influence. I am forever grateful to him!

With Veritas, the Latin word for truth, at the center of a Flintridge Sacred Heart education, what value has that brought to your life?

Seeking out the truth is something I apply to my life everyday. In my personal relationships as well as business opportunities, honesty is something I never take for granted. To live out your personal truth is to live freely.

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?

Junior Patio will always be my favorite spot on campus! From messing around with hoverboards to running away from "The Bird," I fondly recall countless hilarious moments with my friends and classmates on that patio.

What is your current career?

I am a full-time student, fashion model, and work in social media management as well.

What's your proudest accomplishment so far?

I think one of my proudest accomplishments so far has been starring in a 2019 size-inclusive global denim campaign for American Eagle. The campaign was shown in stores, billboards around the world, and on the big screens in Times Square. Seeing myself like that was something I'll never forget. It really was a "Mama, I made it" moment

What three word describe you?
