Sarah Mackenzie

Residential Life Supervisor
Started 2019
I love watching the girls mature and expand their horizons, both academically and personally. Working in the residence hall gives me a front row seat to their development.

What’s your role in the boarding hall?

I am one of the Resident Supervisors. My focus is on helping the girls with their academics.

What made you want to work at Flintridge Sacred Heart?

I come from a boarding school background and have worked with Director of Residential Life Juli James before. When she asked me to come be a part of the staff, I jumped at the chance to return to boarding life.

What most excites you about your work here on the Hill?

I love watching the girls mature and expand their horizons, both academically and personally. Working in the residence hall gives me a front row seat to their development.

What are the two most important things prospective students should know about life in the boarding hall?

When you come to live in the Flintridge Sacred Heart, you're joining a community. It's virtually impossible to leave the residential program without forming lifelong friendships and connections with other girls as well as the staff.

What do you love about the all-girls school environment at Flintridge Sacred Heart?

One of the things I love most about all-girls schools is that there is no social pressure to hide what you are capable of. The environment encourages the girls toward excellence and success.

What are you surprisingly good at?

I think of myself as a jack of all trades and a master of none which makes me highly adaptable.

Where can we find you when you’re not in the boarding hall?

When I'm not on the Hill I'm in Long Beach rowing and working at the boathouse down there.
