I also see an application of what I’ve learned about being Catholic everyday, through the teachers, my peers, our staff, and administration. All the stuff I read in those textbooks is living and breathing; we really do it here on the Hill.
When I think about what it means to go to a Catholic Dominican school, the first thought that comes to mind is the community that has been fostered by Flintridge Sacred Heart, by my Catholic faith, but really by the girls who I am with each and every day. From my schoolmates I have learned countless lessons about courage, strength, friendship, and love that I will never forget. To me, Flintridge Sacred Heart is more than just a place or a school it is almost like a feeling that has blossomed within me. While it is impossible to fully describe it, it is like a shining light and the kind of laughter that bubbles up inside of you that almost hurts your stomach. Some might even argue it’s the laughter that follows after a hydro flask hits the ground just when the class has settled down. Although I’m only in the midst of my second year at Flintridge Sacred Heart, I am already endlessly appreciative of the girls I have met, the teachers who have allowed me to grow, and the faith journey that I have been a part of.
Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy is an all girls' Catholic, Dominican, independent, college-preparatory day and boarding high school in the hills of La Cañada Flintridge. Overlooking Pasadena, FSHA educates girls from Los Angeles, Southern California and around the world for a life of faith, integrity and truth.
